Lily Allen, la biographie

Lily Allen est née le 2 mai 1985, à Hammersmith, un quartier de Londres. Ses parents sont tous deux dans le milieu du divertissement, son père est l'acteur Keith Allen et sa mère, Alison Owen, est productrice. La jeune femme a une enfance mouvementée : ses parents divorcent alors qu'elle n'a que 4 ans. Elle passe toute sa scolarité dans 13 écoles différentes, se faisant renvoyer de chacune d'elles. C'est pourquoi la musique a été pour elle son élément de stabilité. Elle écoute alors du punk, du ska, ou encore du reggae.

A 15 ans, Lily Allen décide d'arrêter les cours, désireuse d'écrire ses propres textes sur son parcours. La jeune chanteuse se fait connaître en 2005, grâce à Internet et surtout à un site communautaire, où elle met toutes les chansons qu'elle écrit. De bouche à oreille, son site et sa musique se font connaître. Finalement, le magazine anglais NME la repère, ouvrant la voie aux autres médias. Dans la foulée, un premier single, "LDN" (London), sort dans les bacs en avril 2006. En juillet, le titre "Smile" paraît et est un véritable succès, se classant numéro un des charts en Grande-Bretagne. Le morceau est extrait de son premier album intitulé "Alright, Still". Elle revient en février 2009 avec un second opus, "It's Not Me, It's You".
